John Xanthos Statue

The Work of Mark Parmenter

John Xanthos was an attorney living in Alamance County, N.C.  He was much loved and respected in this community, devoting time to helping  those less fortunate than himself.  A group of citizens and local attorneys raised money and commissioned me to make a life-size bronze sculpture of him to go near the courthouse.  I did all this work from photographs, depicting him in his forties as he strides to the bench to defend a client.
